Cub Scout Birthday Cakes

My Mother-in-Law is so sweet! She spent all of Tuesday make 3 wonderful cakes for Pack Meeting. They looked so cute and tasted so yummy!!!! I got several compliments and one lady wanted know what bakery I got the cakes from. The pictures on the cake are just printed off the computer and laminated..... It was the perfect cake for the blue and Gold Banquet! They turned out great!!! Thank you Ann!!!!

Free Lunch!

     Last week I took Kendra and her friend Chessa to lunch at Cafe Rio.  They called me and told me that they had a longer lunch since it was the last week of school.  We ordered lunch, and the girls took the food and made their way to the table.  I reached in my purse and did not pull out a wallet.  Opps!  It was sitting next to the computer.  I was weighing out my options running back home/giving them the food back.  

     When  all of the sudden from behind me out came a debit card, and a sweet voice said, "Don't worry about it Lunch is on me."  It was a gal I knew from Young Women's Basketball a few years back.  I didn't actually even remember her name.  She kindly paid for our lunch.  I asked her to write her name and address on a post-it,  and I was able to repay her later that day.  I was really embarrassed, yet so thankful to come in contact with a Little Giver!  Thanks JoLynn!

The Costco Give

I just wanted to say thank you to my sister, for taking to me Costco yesterday.... Not only did she give me a ride, she sat in the car with my two sleeping kids while I went in and got the stuff I needed, then she helped me unload and put away my groceries!!! I have the best sister ever!!! Thanks again

*** Oh, I just thought it was funny, when one of my boys finally woke up... we were already home and starting to put everything away. After my sister left... Bryson said "Aunt Jenny is so nice to give us all this stuff, but how does she know to buy everything the same just like you???"

Defying Gravity!

    Four months ago I braved the elements and headed downtown at 5:00 a.m. to wait in wicked lines.  I was not the only person doing this, I was joined by half of Salt Lake, all of whom wanted to see the Wizard when he made his appearance at the Capital Theater in April.  At about 8:00 a.m. a representative from the theater came by and told us that the tickets would be sold out before we made it through the line.  So I then followed the Yellow Brick road (Main Street) to the Rose Wagner Theater, they would also be selling tickets.  I was about the 60th person in line, the only problem was the box office did not open until 10:00.  So for the next two hours I started visiting with everyone in line.           Then at exactly 10:00 the line started moving and then at 10:00 everyone started hitting the phones (they were calling the ticket agency, not actually hitting their phones).  At about 10:15 the guy next to me (McKay) got through.  He bought 2 tickets for him and 6 for me, then he started passing his phone around to people in line so that they could buy their tickets.  He was very Popular.  Yes,  indeed we were off to see the Wizard, and we all truly felt as if we had Defied Gravity.     

     So on April 29, our whole family went to see the Broadway Musical Wicked.  All of the kids loved it, I think it helped that they knew the songs so well.  Nicole was sitting next to me and every time one of the songs came on that she knew, she would squeeze my hand and give me a little smile.       

     I really want to thank McKay for being a Little Giver.  I know everyone in line feels the same way that I do, thanks for helping us all get our tickets, you have a big heart.

Lucky Duckies!

     This afternoon we had a duck along with 10 little baby ducklings hanging out in the back yard.  We were watching them from the  window, they are so cute.  The mommy duck was lurking by the trampoline and quacking her head off.  

     I told the girls, "I bet some her little duckies had fallen under the trampoline."  (This happens nearly every year)  

     Megan said, "Mom, I don't think so because she already has ten babies."

The girls went to have a look!

Sure enough, they found two little duckies under the trampoline.

They rescued the little duckies from under their under ground prison.  I 

think they would have liked to hold them for the rest of the afternoon, 

but they knew that the cute little yellow dudes were anxious to be back 

with their brothers and sisters.

So they lovingly returned them to their family.

Then they all marched off together.  

What Lucky Duckies!

A Lessoned Learned
