Anyone Can Serve

"Anyone can serve, because
we all have something to give."
Sharon Davis

The Little Give hasn't even been up for a week and already I am doing exactly what I didn't want to do. Overwhelm people!  This is really supposed to be a feel good blog.  I was talking to my sister, and she said,  "I just don't think I can do The Little Give."  This really surprised me because my sister is the best Little Giver I know.  She told me that she just couldn't do all the things that I was doing, like give blood or do big service projects.  (She obviously hadn't read my post about giving the stranger the coupon.)  I explained to her this isn't about the Big Give. It is about the Little Give.  What might be a little give for someone might not be for someone else.  Everyone is in different stages in their lives.

Eight years ago there is no way I would have gone to give blood (unless it was for a pregnancy test, ha ha).  I was busy with little children who needed my undivided attention.  Right now I am at a point in my life that while my children are at school,  I am able to donate blood.  For me that is just a little give, because I have some spare time during the day.  Everyone is different, yet everyone has the ability to give something, however small.  So go out there and do a Little Give!

Great opportunities to help
 others seldom come,
but small ones surround us daily.

I followed this woman at Costco and yelled "Ma'm!" several times until she finally stopped with a look of irritation! What did I want!!!! Well, her little girl who was about a year old had droppped her shoe quite a ways ago. I don't know that she would have found it, had I not been there running after her. She really wasn't greatful either... That was weird. Not that I expected a hug or a new best friend... So, I like to think that the little girl is greatful she still has her other favourite shoe :) I like you quote for today. There are always small ways to help people.

Jacynthe, I wish you would of been at Smith's last week when my baby lost his shoe! I was so sad to see a shoe missing while I was in the check out line! If you had of returned my shoe you would of gotten a BIG hug and really would of been my new best friend!!!

I've really been trying to think of something I can do for someone, and I haven't had a good opportunity yet. As I've been shopping though I've been extra nice and friendly to the store clerks because I know a lot of people are probably rude. I'll keep trying!
